Alerts in minutes
A new mention lands in your inbox or Slack channel minutes after it goes public. You reply while the thread is young and the reporter is still writing.
Every public source
News sites, blogs, forums, Reddit, X, YouTube, Bluesky, Hacker News, Q&A sites and review sites sit in one feed instead of ten open tabs.
Sentiment on every mention
Each mention arrives tagged positive, neutral or negative. The angry review jumps the queue, the friendly shout out can wait.
Reports that write themselves
Every Monday your team gets a summary of volume, sentiment and top mentions. Team and higher plans add a PDF report ready to forward to leadership.
How the media monitoring app works in four steps
-
01Add your keywords
Enter your brand, product names, competitors and any phrase you care about. Boolean filters keep out the noise, like a common word that happens to share your brand name.
-
02Pick sources and filters
Choose which sources to watch and narrow them by language, country and excluded words. A US launch can watch English news and Reddit only.
-
03Route your alerts
Send each keyword where it belongs. Complaints go to the support channel in Slack, press coverage goes to the PR inbox, and a webhook feeds your own tools.
-
04Get your weekly report
One email sums up the week: mention volume, sentiment trend and the mentions worth a second look.

What an alert looks like
Every alert carries the source, the passage that mentions you, the sentiment score, the reach the source reports and where it was sent. Here is how five typical mentions arrive in one feed.
A thread asks for alternatives to your product
A customer writes that your onboarding took too long
An industry outlet lists your brand among new tools in its category
A post compares your pricing with a competitor
A tutorial video walks through your product setup
How MentionAlert compares with the usual alternatives
Most teams start with a free alert, a daily search routine or a quote from a large media intelligence vendor. Here is where each one leaves gaps.
Covers pages in Google's web and news index only, with no sentiment, no reach and no Slack or webhook delivery
Watches news, blogs, forums, Reddit, X, YouTube and review sites, scores sentiment and routes each alert to email, Slack or webhook
Someone types the brand into several search boxes every day and still misses posts that appear between checks
Collects new public mentions around the clock and alerts you minutes after they appear
Usually bought through a sales process with an annual contract, built for large communications departments
Self-serve monthly or yearly plans you start and cancel online, with the first alert set up in minutes
The full side by side comparison is on the Google Alerts alternative page.

No more morning search routine
Nobody on your team has to type the brand into five search boxes every morning. The feed is already sorted, scored and waiting.
A crisis caught in minutes instead of days
A complaint that starts on Reddit or X reaches the right person while it is still one thread, not after a customer forwards a screenshot.
One weekly report instead of five tools
Volume, sentiment, competitor mentions and the top negative items arrive in one email. Leadership reads one page instead of five dashboards.
Security your procurement team expects
Roles per workspace keep clients and departments apart. Enterprise adds SSO with SAML, an audit log, a 99.9 percent uptime SLA and invoice billing. MentionAlert collects public sources only, through official APIs and public feeds.

Questions buyers ask before they start
1.Is monitoring public mentions legal?
- Yes. MentionAlert reads public sources only, collected under each platform's terms through official APIs and public feeds. We never enter private groups, never read content behind a login and never scrape sites that forbid it.
2.How fast do alerts arrive?
- Instant alerts go out within minutes of a mention being collected. If you prefer fewer interruptions, switch any keyword to a daily digest instead.
3.Which sources does MentionAlert watch?
- News sites, blogs, forums, Reddit, X (Twitter), YouTube, Bluesky, Hacker News, Q&A sites and review sites. You choose which of them each keyword follows.
4.How is sentiment scored?
- Our in-house model reads the text of each mention, handles negations such as "not great", and labels it positive, neutral or negative. Reports and filters use these labels, so you can pull every negative mention of the week in one click.
5.Can I cancel any time?
- Yes. Cancel in your account settings with one click. Your access runs until the end of the period you paid for, and payments are final as described in our refund policy.
6.What counts as a mention?
- One mention is one post, article, comment, video or review that matches a tracked keyword. Your quota counts mentions collected in the billing period, and deleting mentions does not give quota back.
7.Does it work for agencies with client workspaces?
- Yes. The Agency plan gives you 15 client workspaces, roles per workspace, alerts routed to each client's own Slack channel and white-label PDF reports sent on a schedule.
8.How long do you keep mention data?
- Mention history is kept for 30 days on Starter, 12 months on Team, 24 months on Agency and 36 months on Enterprise. Export to CSV any time to keep your own copy.
